Game Recap

The Issaquah Eagles beat undefeated Garfield in one of our most exciting games yet on this cold Saturday night on Garfield's home court.  The game was physical, intense and close from the tip off until the very last seconds.  Ty Gibson led the Eagles with 27 points, 4 assists and 2 steals.  He also made a clutch 3 point shot in the final seconds of the game to break a tie, giving them only seconds to try to salvage the game which they were unable to do.  Ary-Turner contributed 12 points and 4 assists with Watson tossing in 11 points and 5 assists.  Jake Henke led rebounders with 7.  Great team effort and win!

2-4-2014 Eastlake Wolves 55 @ Issaquah Eagles 68 Recap

After a close first half where the Eagles were only up by two at the half, Issaquah came on strong in the 2nd half to control the outcome of this match up.  Henke led Issaquah with 18 points and 11 rebounds followed by Ary-Turner with 15 points/3 assists and Ty Gibson with 14 points/5 assists/6 rebounds.  One more league game to go before play offs begin.  

12-20-2013 Issaquah Eagles (C) 56 vs Ballard Beavers 58 Recap

Center Brent Wilson had his 2nd 21 point effort of the season in a nail biter against Ballard. Issaquah had a chance to send it to overtime but missed a last second shot losing 58 to 56. Jack Suh contributed 14 points in the second half and Max Eastern had a solid all around night with 16 points, 9 assists and 3 blocked shots.

2-11-2014 Issaquah Eagles 61 vs Inglemoor Vikings 42 Recap

Issaquah dominated from the opening tip off with many players contributing to this win.  Gibson led the scorers with 16, followed by Watson with 14 and Ary-Turner with 10.  Gibson had 4 assists and 4 rebounds as well.  Watson had 3 assists and 3 rebounds while Ary-Turner had 3 assists and 5 rebounds.  All players got into this play off game tonight.

Game Recap

Issaquah clinched a seat in the Kingco Championship game by defeating Roosevelt 78-68.  Freshman guard Treyvon Ary-Turner was lights out, scoring a 32 points, a season high for the team.  Gibson was solid as always with 17 points and Henke had 11.  Brian Watson had 6 assists and Nevin led the rebounders with 5.  As a team the Eagles were 85% from the free throw line with Gibson going 7 for 7 and Watson making 4 for 4.  Henke was 7 for 9 at the free throw line and both Nevin/Ary-Turner were 3 for 4.  Impressive work, guys!  

2-21-2014 Garfield Bulldogs 83 @ Issaquah Eagles 65 Recap

The Eagles could not match Garfield's intensity and shot percentages in this Kingco Championship game.  Ary-Turner led the scoring efforts with 20 points followed by Gibson with 17.  Scott Kellum came off the bench and scored a season high 15 points for the sophomore.  Henke was the leading rebounder with 10.  

2-28-2014 Issaquah Eagles 64 vs Bellarmine Prep 46 Recap

Long time friends and guards Ty Gibson and Brian Watson put on a scoring performance in this Regional tournament win with 22 and 18 points, respectively.  Addison McIrvin and Trevon Ary-Turner each contributed 8 points as well.  Henke was dominate on rebounds with 11 of the team total of 24.  Gibson added 4 assists and 4 rebounds to his totals, with Watson contributing 5 assists and 3 rebounds.  This win advances the Eagles to the Tacoma Dome and a berth in the state tournament!

Game Recap

An exciting game from start to finish.  There were 17 lead changes in the first half of the game alone!  Garfield led after the first quarter, it was tied at the half, Issaquah was up by 3 after the third quarter and we were tied going into the final minute of the game.  Our boys played their hearts out and came out two points behind, but we couldn't be more proud of them.  Watson stepped up in a huge way and scored 17 points for the Eagles.  Gibson had 16, Nevin had 10, McIrvin had 8, Ary-Turner had 5 and Kellum had 3. Gibson was the leading rebounder with 9 total, followed by Watson and Henke with 4 each, Nevin had 3, Crandall had 2 and McIrvin had 1. Garfield is a formidable opponent and Issaquah matched their skill and intensity the entire game.

Issaquah Eagles play Todd Beamer for 3rd place in the state tournament.

Game Recap

Issaquah fought through the fatigue and emotions of the loss the night before and took 3rd place at state in a game that was very close until the 4th quarter. Scoring: 15-10 after first quarter, 26-23 at the half, Beamer led 39-33 after the 3rd quarter and then Ty Gibson got to rest on the bench for a few minutes.  When he reentered the game in the 4th quarter, he went on a 13-0 scoring streak and solidified this win over Todd Beamer.  Individual scorers were: Gibson - 18, Henke - 14, Ary-Turner - 11, Watson - 11, Van Halm - 2, Nevin - 2, McIrvin - 2.  Henke led the rebounding effort with 11 total, followed by Watson with 7, Gibson with 5, McIrvin with 4, Ary-Turner with 2 and Crandall with 1.  A great season by this Issaquah Eagles team, and a new trophy for the IHS trophy case!
